For Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new franchise, “Prep & Landing,” Disney.com’s Creative Director pitched the idea for WDAS’ first original online short. The success of the previous “Wall-E” homepage takeover gave us the credibility to receive WDAS’ approval. I was tasked to lead the creative development and implementation of the web site and the original short.
The concept for the short, “Tiny’s Big Adventure,” was developed with the show’s directors and producer. The WDAS team was instrumental in providing guidance and assets, including environmental and character assets that added to an immersive web experience. The team worked with WDAS to propose creative solutions that were not only economical but did not infringe on the existing animation workflows. The project was a great success with the “Prep & Landing” team being very pleased with the execution, leading to continued content partnerships for their sequels.
